  7. mk3d is a stereogram generator that works with text.  Given
  8. an input file, it'll output a bunch of text characters that
  9. can show a 3-d image to anyone willing to view the thing
  10. wall-eyed.  This program is an update (basically, a bugfix),
  11. with perhaps one minor enhancement (level 4 character
  12. selection is now considerably better).

  14. This program is based on similar code I found for MS-DOS on
  15. Usenet a couple of years ago.  I had to completely rewrite
  16. it, since that code was written in C, and I don't have a C
  17. compilor installed on my system (too much memory.. I only
  18. have a 40 meg harddrive <sigh>).

  20. Anyway, if you're looking for super-defined images, dream
  21. on.  This works with text, and so its definition is as
  22. blocky as you'd expect if you had to work strictly with
  23. characters.  But, the cool this about this program is that
  24. you can create your images to be viewed from within
  25. messages, if you want.
